大學英語四級寫作是大學生英語綜合應用能力中的薄弱項目，也是教學難點。教師不僅要教授學生基本的寫作規范，更要教授他們寫作技巧尤其是英語思維能力和表達能力，才能真正提升學生的寫作水平，提高大學生的英語綜合應用能力。
一、大學生英語四級寫作水平現狀分析
根據2007年教育部公布的《大學英語課程教學要求》，大學四級階段的一般要求是：“能完成一般性寫作任務，能描述個人經歷、情感和發生的事件等，能寫常見的應用文，能在半小時內就一般性話題或提綱寫出不少于120詞的短文，內容基本完整，中心思想明確，用詞恰當，語意連貫。能掌握基本的寫作技能。”然而，筆者在多年的教學實踐和各類英語測試，以及對學生的調查問卷中發現多數學生還不能達到上述寫作的一般要求，調查問卷中影響學生寫作的最重要的因素依次是詞匯量、語法、寫作技巧和漢語思維。寫作難點依次是文字通順，連貫性強；重點突出，文章邏輯性強，文章切題，表達思想清楚。榱私餼鏨鮮鑫侍猓筆者嘗試在大學英語四級寫作教學中引入美國康奈爾大學的研究成果――概念圖，以幫助學生提高英語思維能力和書面表達能力，這在大學英語寫作教學中是首次嘗試。（截至2015年12月31日中國知網期刊文獻檢索。）
二、概念圖簡介
概念圖（Concept Map）又稱為概念構圖。1984年美國康奈爾大學的諾瓦克教授（D.Novak）把概念圖定義為：用來組織和表征知識的實用工具，是一種以科學命題的形式顯示概念之間的意義聯系，并用具體事例加以說明，從而把所有的基本概念有機聯系起來的空間網絡結構圖。概念圖通常將有關某一主題不同級別的概念或命題置于方框或圓圈內，再以各種連線將相關的概念和命題連接，這樣就形成了關于該主題的概念或命題網絡，從而以形象化的方式表征學習者的知識結構及對某一主題的理解。
概念圖的典型表現形式是圖形組織器（Graphic Organizer），圖形組織器能夠通過特定的圖示來隱含某種特定的思維結構關系，為教學者和學習者提供一種使用和加工信息的認知支持框架，即一種圖形組織器通常就代表著一類思維模式或者認知方法。借助認知工具，學生能獲得充分的感知信息，產生意義構建，從而促進認知能力和創新能力的發展。
三、基于概念圖的大學英語四級寫作教學策略
概念圖以直觀形象的方式表達知識結構，有效呈現思考過程及知識關聯，可以幫助學生理清文章脈絡，把握文章的邏輯關系，提取出關鍵概念、一般概念、概念及具體概念，確定不同層級的概念及各級概念間的邏輯關系，同時幫助學生進行合理的文章布局，提高英語思維能力和表達能力。在寫作課堂教學中，教師憑借概念圖通過以下幾個步驟提高大學生的英語四級寫作水平。
（一）運用概念圖提高學生的閱讀能力
學生寫作內容空洞，文章重點不突出，邏輯性不強，缺乏寫作技巧，書寫中式英語，這些都與英語閱讀的深度與廣度不夠有關。下面以2002年6月大學英語四級考試的作文題目Student Use of Computers為例，幫助學生理解作者的寫作思路和文章結構。
1.采用“對比矩陣”這一圖形組織器簡單對比某校大學生使用計算機驚人的時間變化。（見圖一）
2.采用“魚骨圖”這一圖形組織器顯示這一現象產生的原因。（見圖二）
3.采用“流程圖”這一圖形組織器顯示現在大學生在使用計算機中遇到的問題。（見圖三）
作者的寫作思路是首先對所給圖表進行描述，通過時間對比發現：五年內大學生使用計算機的時間增加了10倍。究其原因，首先是科學和技術的迅速發展，各個領域普遍使用計算機。其次是熟練使用計算機成為大學生就業的必備能力。最后是計算機購買價格的逐步降低，大學生的經濟能力能夠承受，更為大學生長期使用計算機提供了條件。作者的思路清晰，邏輯嚴密，層次清楚，重點突出。最后指出一周使用20小時進行娛樂消遣，時間過長會影響學習成績，本末倒置，大學生要引以為戒。
這種可視化思維便于學生理解、記憶及反復套用，可以達到舉一反三、融會貫通的效果。同時可以改變學生的思維習慣，減輕學生寫作時的焦慮，減少寫作時間，提高寫作效率。
（二）運用概念圖提高學生的寫作能力
部分學生害怕寫作的原因之一是不習慣英語的“直線型”思維模式，感到無從著手，不知道如何布局謀篇。教師可以教學生借助概念圖這一可視化工具，將文章整體結構和段落間的邏輯關系清晰明了地表達出來。下面以2011年6月大學英語四級考試的作文題目Online Shopping為例，幫助學生拓寬寫作思路，寫出個性化作文。
構思一：采用“對比矩陣”這一圖形組織器對比表達網上購物與實體店購物的優勢和劣勢（網上購物節省很多時間，減少不少開支，但是信任度降低；實體店購物花費很多時間，開支有所增加，可是信任度卻提高。），然后通過兩種購物方式比較后提出自己的建議：規范網購的規章制度，使人們盡情享受網購的方便和愉快。（見下表）
構思二：采用“魚骨圖”這一圖形組織器來突出時尚的網上購物的好處，顯示構成其優勢的四個主要原因：節省很多時間；減少不少開支；享受網購的愉快及方便。最后強調作者的觀點：規范網購的規章制度，使人們盡情享受網購的方便和愉快。（見圖四）
通過概念圖這一可視化的思維工具，學生明確了文章的寫作框架，再對概念進行排序，確定層級關系中，深刻把握了文章內容之間的深層結構，從而使文章中心思想明確，層次分明，語意連貫，掌握基本的寫作技巧。
（三）教師實踐中應該注意的問題
筆者通過調查問卷和課后訪談了解到，100%的大學生對概念圖一無所知或者不熟悉，因此要求學生繪制概念圖具有一定的難度，所以老師要和學生一起協作繪制概念圖。學生熟練繪圖后才能使概念圖這一可視化思維工具為自己所用，在英語寫作中起到重要作用。具體操作步驟如下：
1.師生一起確定所選概念，注意提醒學生不要使用句子，注意規范語法，講究大小寫。
2.師生一起給概念排序，確定層級關系，理清文章脈絡。
3.師生一起確定連接詞，把概念間的邏輯關系表達清楚，這是學生繪制概念圖的難點也是重點。
在學生基本學會繪制概念圖以后，教師可以通過讓學生給概念圖空缺填空（在標準概念圖中留下一些空白的概念或者空白的連接詞），檢驗學生對概念的產生、內涵和外延的熟悉程度。也可以要求學生認真讀圖，進行改錯（在標準的概念圖中把幾個正確的概念或者連接詞換成錯誤的概念或者連接詞）來檢測學生對寫作材料的記憶、理解和準確把握程度。通過上述訓練使學生熟悉繪制概念圖，借助概念圖進行圖式思維，開闊寫作思路，提高創新思維能力，促進理解和記憶。
四、結語
通過寫作課的教學實踐，教師發現借助概念圖學生寫作時可以快速構思，預先確定文章的結構和組織材料，提高創新思維能力，增強思維的流暢性和邏輯性，寫作思維更加開闊，重點突出，邏輯嚴密，文字更加連貫，掌握基本的寫作技能。同時寫作的興趣有所提高，寫作效率有所提升，自我效能感有所增強。概念圖作為知識和思維的可視化工具，使大學生在大學英語四級寫作中有圖可循，在拓展寫作思路中具有重要作用，ζ淥英語寫作教學策略也有一定的借鑒作用。
